Daniel Burnap papers and correspondence, 1779-1854.

Family and business correspondence, court and legal records, and bills, receipts and account books of an Andover, Connecticut, watch repairer, jeweler, farmer and Justice of the Peace. Correspondents include his brother Abner Burnap, his nephews Ela and Silas Burnap and National Olmstead. A significant number of letters were written to Mary K. Burnap from her daughters Mary Burnap Skinner and Charlotte Burnap Hyde, and from friends. Also includes tax records for Coventry, court summonses, and deeds. Of particular note is a notebook with pencil-drawn designs of clock parts, and an account book entitled "Watch Book." The collection also contains records of the First Ecclesiastical Society of Andover.
